What We Take
What Jewelry Do We Buy?
We buy jewelry in Los Angeles across every category below — one piece or an entire collection. If you're not sure what you have, send photos anyway. Identifying it is our job, not yours.
Diamond Jewelry
Engagement rings, tennis bracelets, studs and pendants. Certificate or not — we grade the stone ourselves and price it against the current market.
Gold Jewelry
10K, 14K, 18K and 22K. Chains, bangles, rings — including tangled, broken or single earrings. Signed gold is valued as jewelry first, metal second.
Signed & Designer
Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Van Cleef & Arpels, Bvlgari, David Yurman, Chopard, Harry Winston and more. The name on the piece carries real premium.
Estate & Vintage
Inherited collections, antique and period pieces, mixed boxes. We sort the good from the costume and tell you plainly which is which.
Pearls & Colored Stones
Mikimoto and fine strands, sapphire, ruby and emerald pieces — signed or unsigned, mounted in gold or platinum.
Broken & Unwanted
Damaged settings, missing stones, pieces you'd never repair. Damage lowers the number — it very rarely takes it to zero.

Before You Sell
How Much Is My Jewelry Worth?
Four things move the number more than anything else. Knowing them before you talk to any buyer — us included — is the difference between a fair deal and a bad one.
The 4Cs — and the one people underrate
Carat, color, clarity and cut. Everyone fixates on carat weight, but cut is what makes a stone actually look alive, and it swings the price hard. Two one-carat diamonds can be worth wildly different money.
Gold is weighed. Design is valued.
A plain chain is priced on karat purity and weight against the day's spot price — 14K is 58.3% gold, 18K is 75%. But a signed Cartier or Van Cleef piece is worth far more than the metal in it. Never let signed jewelry be quoted as scrap. That's the single most expensive mistake sellers make.
An appraisal is not an offer
Your insurance appraisal states replacement cost at full retail. No buyer on earth pays that — it isn't what the document is for. The real number is what the piece resells for today. If that gap surprises you, the appraisal was doing its job, not lying to you.
Don't fix it first
Don't polish, don't repair, don't re-tip prongs before selling. You'll spend retail on work we'd redo anyway, and on vintage pieces over-polishing removes material and permanently lowers value. Bring it as it is.

Estate & Inherited
Selling Inherited & Estate Jewelry
Most of the jewelry we see arrives in a box someone else filled. A parent's collection, a grandmother's rings, a drawer nobody has opened in years — good pieces mixed in with costume, a chain that's hopelessly tangled, one earring whose pair is long gone.
You don't need to sort it, clean it or value it first. Bring the whole box. We'll go through it with you and say plainly which pieces carry real value, which are worth their gold, and which are worth keeping rather than selling — including the ones we'd tell you not to sell to us at all.
There's no obligation, no pressure, and no charge for the conversation. If you only want part of it valued, that's fine too.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I sell jewelry in Los Angeles?
Luxury Buyers Inc at 127 S Vermont Ave offers competitive offers, free authentication and fast, secure payment. Whether you consign or sell outright, our experts make the process simple and trustworthy — and you can ship to us free from anywhere in the US.
Is it best to sell to a jeweler or a pawn shop?
A pawn shop is built for speed on a loan, not for getting the most out of a signed piece — it will usually quote your jewelry close to its gold weight. A specialist buyer prices the brand, the stone and the design on top of the metal. If your piece is signed or holds a good diamond, the difference is not small.
What's the difference between a retail appraisal and your offer?
An appraisal states what it would cost to replace the piece at full retail, for insurance. Our offer is what it resells for in today's market. Those are two different numbers by design — no buyer pays a replacement-value appraisal.
Where do you get the most money selling jewelry?
It depends on the piece. Signed designer jewelry does best with a specialist who prices the brand. Plain gold does best wherever you're paid honestly against spot. Auction can beat us on exceptional pieces but takes months and charges fees. We'll tell you if your piece is one of those.
Can I sell my diamond ring without a GIA certificate?
Yes. Most rings we buy have no paperwork at all. A GIA or AGS report helps and can raise the offer because it removes doubt, but we grade the stone ourselves either way. Don't pay to certify a stone just to sell it — ask us first.
Can I sell Cartier, Tiffany or Van Cleef jewelry without the box or papers?
Yes. Original box and papers help and add value, but signed pieces are identified by their hallmarks, serial numbers and construction — not the packaging. We buy signed jewelry every week with nothing but the piece itself.
Does Cartier have a buy back program?
No. Cartier, Tiffany and Van Cleef do not buy their jewelry back from the public — the same is true of nearly every luxury house. That's exactly why specialist buyers exist. Bring it to us instead.
Do you buy lab-grown diamonds?
Be aware that lab-grown diamonds have very little resale value — prices have fallen dramatically and continue to. If your stone is lab-grown we'll tell you honestly what it's worth, which is often much less than you paid. The setting itself may still carry value.
What's the best way to sell inherited jewelry?
Bring all of it, unsorted. Don't clean or repair anything first. Have it looked at as one collection so the good pieces are identified properly rather than lumped in with costume — that's where inherited jewelry usually loses money.
Is estate jewelry worth anything?
Often much more than people expect. Older pieces carry gold weight at minimum, and signed or period pieces regularly beat modern equivalents. Even a box that looks like costume is worth ten minutes of our time.
Where can I sell my engagement ring in Los Angeles?
Right here — no questions about why. Bring it in or mail it to us free, with or without the certificate. We'll grade the stone, price the setting and give you a no-obligation offer within a business day.
Where is the best place to sell gold in Los Angeles?
Anywhere that pays you honestly against the day's spot price and weighs in front of you. Ask any buyer what percentage of spot they're paying and at what karat — if they won't answer plainly, leave. We'll show you the math.
Do you buy broken or damaged jewelry?
Yes. Tangled chains, missing stones, snapped clasps, single earrings. Damage lowers the offer, it rarely eliminates it — and please don't repair it first, since you'd be paying retail for work that doesn't raise our number.
Do you buy smaller diamonds, or only large stones?
Both. There's no minimum size. Smaller stones in a signed setting are frequently worth more than a larger stone in an unsigned one.
Do you pay cash, and how long does it take?
We pay by secure transfer directly into your bank account rather than cash — it's safer for both sides and it's traceable, which protects you. Most quotes go out within one business day, and payment follows as soon as the piece is verified.
Do you offer free shipping, and is my jewelry protected in transit?
Shipping to us is free — USPS label or FedEx home pick-up, your choice. Jewelry is small and mails easily. If you'd rather not mail it at all, bring it to 127 S Vermont Ave and watch the whole appraisal happen in front of you.
